Furot was created with the aim of taking maximum advantage of the magnificent climatic, edafolic and variety-based properties of the Empordà region for producing quality wines.
The project started up after studying land that was appropriate for the specific needs of the variety, and the type of soil, orientation and altitude.
Curiously enough, after deciding on the place in which the vineyard would be established, a magnificent site near l'Albera, we discovered that the estate was partly occupied by a wood, which meant carrying out extra work to prepare the terrain.
The terrain was left to repose for one more year and then planted. From then on, a five-year growth cycle was necessary for the grapevine to develop, and the vineyard was treated with all the necessary care to allow us to enjoy the first harvest of Sauvignon Blanc from the Empordè.
After the experience and expertise acquired during years of work at Celler Oliveda, the vinification process was executed, and the grape harvested and subjected to gentle pressing to extract the first yeast film and a few other secrets that we will keep to ourselves...
We always follow the same criterion, that of caring for and surprising our customers with an end product that, in my opinion, is extraordinary.
